HKBU receives HK$1 million donation in support of publication of HKBU 60th Anniversary History Book

The University recently received a generous donation of HK$1 million from Dr Jacinto Tong, Vice-Chairman and Chief Executive Officer of Gale Well Group Limited, in support of the publication of books commemorating HKBU’s diamond jubilee in 2016. Two editions, English and Chinese, of the HKBU 60th Anniversary History Book which documents the University’s developments and achievements over the decades from an academic perspective are being compiled by Professor Mak King-sang, Professor Chow Kai-wing and Dr Wong Man-kong of the Department of History.

 

HKBU held a cheque presentation ceremony yesterday (23 April) in recognition of the donor’s generosity. The ceremony was officiated by Dr Jacinto Tong and Professor Albert Chan, President and Vice-Chancellor. Guests who attended the event included Dr Tong’s wife Mrs Jenny Tong, their son Mr Jonathan Tong and his wife Mrs Tong, their daughter Miss Jacqueline Tong, Professor Rick Wong, Vice-President (Research and Development) and Mr Andy Lee, Vice-President (Administration) and Secretary.
