The Office of Student Affairs held the annual Scholarship and Bursary Donors' Tea Reception on 30 April to express its appreciation to donors for their generosity and support to the University over the years. The occasion also provided an opportunity for the beneficiaries to express their gratitude to the donors in person.

This year, HKBU received generous donations from more than 210 organisations, professional bodies, firms and individuals. More than 1,600 scholarship and bursary awards totalling around HK$40 million were presented to nearly 1,500 outstanding students from different Faculties and Schools.

Addressing guests on the occasion, Professor Rick Wong, Acting President and Vice-Chancellor, said that the University recorded a 65 per cent growth in the number of scholarships and bursaries offered, and a 34 percent increase in the total donation amount when compared to the figures of 2010/11. He expressed his gratitude to the donors for their support and looked forward to their continued partnership with HKBU in nurturing brilliant leaders of tomorrow.
