Miss Law Nga-wing, PhD student of the Academy of Visual Arts (AVA), became one of eight recipients of the 2015-2016 Fulbright-RGC Hong Kong Research Scholar Awards. Nga-wing will conduct research on theories of art activism and performance studies in the forthcoming Fall and Spring semesters at Northwestern University in the US. She plans to consolidate her PhD thesis research on Hong Kong post-colonial art and activism from a perspective of performance studies, and contribute to new theories of identity building in Hong Kong.
The Research Grants Council (RGC) launched the Award in collaboration with the US Consulate General in Hong Kong and Macau, to support young scholars to conduct research in the US. Nga-wing is currently undertaking her PhD study at AVA under the supervision of Professor John Aiken, Director and Dr Anson Mak, Assistant Professor of AVA.
