To commemorate HKBU’s 60th anniversary, the University recently set up a HKBU History Gallery to showcase its memorable items and major milestones since its founding.
Located at Level 2 of the Lam Woo International Conference Centre on Shaw Campus, the HKBU History Gallery has on display more than 100 precious photographs and artefacts, and also uses multimedia resources to show the unique development path of the University.
At a soft opening of the History Gallery held today, Professor Roland Chin, President and Vice-Chancellor, said the Gallery is a good place for students to know “who we are” and through viewing the artefacts understand what HKBU stands for.
Mr Andy Lee, Vice-President (Administration) and Secretary and also Chairman of HKBU History Gallery Consultative Committee, said the 60th anniversary is a good time for the University community to review the past and also look forward to the future. He said the History Gallery is a wonderful platform for university members to gain a deeper understanding of HKBU’s history, the challenges it overcame and its many achievements. He also thanked members of the Committee, including representatives of the HKBU Alumni Association, the HKBU Century Club, the Students’ Union, the Department of History and Professor Chow Kai-wing, the Library and various administrative offices for their support.
The HKBU History Gallery is now open to the University community and the public during campus operating hours.
