HKBU Rowing Team shines at Jackie Chan Challenge Cup

The HKBU Rowing Team recently competed with rowers from eight local universities at the annual “Jackie Chan Challenge Cup” Hong Kong Universities Rowing Championships 2016. The team achieved outstanding performance and successfully swept three gold, three silver and one bronze medals in individual and group contests. The brilliant performance of the HKBU athletes also won them the first runner-up title for the men’s overall, the women’s overall and the overall championship, the best result obtained in recent years.

With the support of the University’s Office of Student Affairs, the HKBU team went to Taiwan for a 10-day intensive training course before the competition. Moreover, additional equipment was purchased in order to enhance both the physical and technical training for the team members. The team expressed its hope for more students to engage in this sport to develop teamwork, carry on the HKBU spirit and strive for even better performance in the future.
