The University recently received a generous donation of HK$5 million from Mr and Mrs Lee Siu-lun in support of the University’s campus master plan. In recognition of Mr and Mrs Lee’s generosity, the University has named the Learning Commons on the sixth floor of the Fong Shu Chuen Library Building on Ho Sin Hang campus the “Mr and Mrs Lee Siu Lun Learning Commons”. Officiating at the naming ceremony last Friday (7 October) were Mr and Mrs Lee Siu-lun, Chairman of the HKBU Foundation Dr Wilfred Wong and President and Vice-Chancellor Professor Roland Chin.
In his speech, Professor Roland Chin expressed his gratitude to Mr and Mrs Lee who have been generously supporting the development of the education sector. He said HKBU, which is celebrating its 60th anniversary this year, remains committed to serving the community and nurturing students with innovative thinking and wide-ranging vision.
Since April this year when the Learning Commons first opened its doors, it has been providing students with a conducive and user-friendly environment with multi-purpose, technologically advanced learning facilities. Open 24 hours a day, seven days a week, it can accommodate over 100 students at any one time.
