The fact that HKBU’s athletes have been selected for the Hong Kong team means their standards are well recognised in the sporting world. The University’s Department of Physical Education will co-operate with other stakeholders in stepping up the training of the athletes, providing advice on strategy, enhancing their mental strength and building their team spirit and rapport with each other.
The Universiade, organised by the International University Sports Federation, is an international multi-sports event for university athletes and regarded as being second only to the Olympic Games in prestige. Like the Olympics, the Universiade has summer and winter events, each staged every two years in different cities.
