HKBU student teams won numerous honours at the annual Hong Kong Creative Drama Festival co-organised by the Centre for Holistic Teaching and Learning of HKBU and the Hong Kong Teachers Drama Association. The students unleashed their creativity and passion for drama at the competition and successfully won the Champion award, Second Runner-up award, three Outstanding Awards and five Merit Awards in the category of tertiary institution/open group.
The award-winning HKBU students included master’s student in Sociology Hung May-chi (Champion award), BBA student Li Hei-suen (Second Runner-up award), students from the College of International Education Choy Yik-tung and Lo Siu-yee (Second Runner-up award).
The competition, with the theme of “The Trend”, was in its eighth year. There were three categories: primary school, secondary school, and tertiary institution/open group. Over 500 students took part this year, with a record high participation of 20 teams under the category of tertiary institution/open group. Contestants were required to deliver an impromptu drama performance under the specified topic with a set of designated props. Prior to the performance, they were given 15 minutes for preparation.
