Gihon Biotech, an HKBU spin-off company, was recently presented with the silver Asia International Innovation Invention Award from the Hong Kong Federation of Innovative Technologies and Manufacturing Industries.

Led by Professor Zhang Hongjie from the School of Chinese Medicine, the company received the award for their innovative use of the Chinese medicine “Dendrobium” in skin-protecting agents.

The Hong Kong Innovation Technology Achievement Award is in its 8th year. It is an annual event which not only recognises the achievements of local companies, research teams and individuals for their patented inventions, but also aims to promote the spirit of creativity and innovation.
