Two scholars from the Faculty of Social Sciences have received funding from the Research Grants Council’s (RGC) Research Impact Fund (RIF) 2018-19 to carry out research into healthy ageing and social anxiety disorder.
Dr Leung Ka-man, Research Assistant Professor from the Department of Sports and Physical Education, received HK$5.8 million from RGC to conduct a project titled “Healthy ageing through light volley ball promotion in Hong Kong and Mainland China”.
Dr Pan Jiayan, Associate Professor from the Department of Social Work, has secured HK$4.4 million from RGC for a project titled “Development and evaluation of the effectiveness of an online cognitive behavioural intervention program for Hong Kong people with social anxiety disorder”.
The RGC received a total of 164 proposals and provided support for 30 of the projects, including the above two proposals.
