School of Chinese Medicine hosts spring reception to strengthen ties with friends and supporters

The School of Chinese Medicine (SCM) celebrated Chinese New Year with a Spring Reception recently. Around 180 participants, including government officials, members of the industry, staff, students and SCM alumni, attended the event. 

 

Professor Rick Wong, Vice-President (Research and Development), thanked all the guests for their unwavering support over the past year. He expressed his wish that SCM will continue to benefit from the strong network, and work in concert with its stakeholders as it endeavours to further advance Chinese medicine in Hong Kong, especially with regards to the development of the first Chinese medicine hospital in the region.

 

Speaking at the event, Dr Cheung Wai-lun, Project Director of the Chinese Medicine Hospital Project Office, which is part of the Food and Health Bureau, said that 2019 would be another exciting year for the Chinese medicine sector with the commencement of operation of the dedicated fund for promoting Chinese medicine development and the initiation of the tendering process for selecting the operator of the new Chinese medicine hospital.
