School of Chinese Medicine hosts annual Chinese medicine quality control summit

The 2019 Hong Kong Summit on Quality Control of Valuable Chinese Medicines, which was jointly organised by the School of Chinese Medicine and the Hong Kong Authentication Centre of Dendrobii Officinalis Caulis, was held on 16 March. 

 

Around 200 people from government departments, the Chinese Medicine industry and academia attended the annual summit. Six top scholars and experts from mainland China, Macau and Hong Kong shared their insights on the authentication and quality control of prized Chinese medicines such as shark fin, cordyceps, Dendrobii Officinalis Caulis and donkey-hide gelatin at the event. 

 

The Summit was held to provide a platform for the exchange of scholarly and technological information and to contribute to the enhancement of the quality of Chinese medicines, as well as the growth of the local pharmaceutical industry.
