Over 400 Chinese medicine experts attended the 5th Forum (Hong Kong) on the Development of Chinese Medicine and the 11th Annual Meeting of the Global University Network of Traditional Medicine co-organised by HKBU on 29 and 30 June to discuss the latest advances in Chinese medicine research and the role of Chinese medicine in global health care.

Speaking at the opening ceremony, Professor Sophia Chan, Secretary for Food and Health of the HKSAR Government, commended HKBU School of Chinese Medicine for its exceptional performance in education, research and clinical services. She also announced that the government would soon roll out various subsidy programmes under the newly launched $500 million Chinese Medicine Development Fund.

The event was jointly organised by HKBU; the Exchange Center for Taiwan, Hong Kong and Macao, the National Administration of Traditional Chinese Medicine; and the Global University Network of Traditional Medicine, and was supported by Pok Oi Hospital.
