HKBU receives HK$120 million donation from Hung Hin Shiu Charitable Foundation, Shiu Pong Enterprises and the Hung family

HKBU hosts a recognition ceremony to thank the Hung family.

 

HKBU has received generous donations totalling HK$120 million from the Hung Hin Shiu Charitable Foundation (the Foundation), Shiu Pong Enterprises and the Hung family, designated for the University’s strategic development and for nurturing young musical talent.

 

In appreciation of the donors’ beneficence, a recognition ceremony was held on 12 September 2019. Representatives of the Foundation, Shiu Pong Enterprises and the Hung family, including Dr Hung Yeung Pong-wah, Mr Billy Hung and Mrs Simmy Hung, and Mrs Elizabeth Hung Wong, as well as Dr Clement Chen, Chairman of the Council and the Court, and Professor Roland Chin, President and Vice-Chancellor of HKBU, officiated at the ceremony.

 

Professor Chin is deeply grateful to the donors for these tremendous contributions towards the University’s Institutional Strategic Plan 2018-2028. In particular, the donations will enable the University to achieve its aspirations of delivering the best student experience, producing world-class research and sustaining academic excellence through investments in people, governance and facilities.
