20 May 2022

Michael Chong, a Year 3 student of the Department of English Language and Literature, and Yeung Wing-kwan, a Year 3 student of the Department of Government and International Studies, are among the 16 awardees in Hong Kong who were each awarded a scholarship of HK$50,000 under the For Our Future Scholarship 2021-2022 scheme.

Michael enjoys English public speaking, and he loves sharing his latest adventures. In particular, he documents his English learning journey, favourite sports activities, campus life and cross-cultural interaction experiences on social media platforms such as YouTube and Bilibili, and his videos have attracted several thousand viewers.

With the goal of being a young leader, Wing-kwan has been actively equipping herself with the necessary expertise, and she hopes to use her knowledge and skills in public policy and the international arena.

The For Our Future Scholarship has been offered by the Greater Bay Area Homeland Youth Community Foundation to local students since 2020 in recognition of their outstanding academic achievements, personal development and contributions to society.
