HKBU retains overall championship title at intercollegiate athletics meet

The HKBU Athletics Team retained the Overall Championship title at the 60th Annual Athletic Meet held by The University Sports Federation of Hong Kong (USFHK).

The competition was organised by the USFHK at the Joint Sports Centre on 4 and 5 June. The HKBU Athletics Team performed remarkably and won a total of 12 gold medals, and they clinched the championship in the overall men’s category and the first runner-up position in the overall women’s category.

In individual events, the HKBU men’s team won the championship in the shot put, pole vault, triple jump, 100 m, 110 m hurdles, 200 m, 400 m hurdles, 1500 m, 4 x 100 m relay and 4 x 400 m relay. Shak Kam-ching, a student of Sport and Recreation Studies at the HKBU College of International Education, won the men’s individual overall championship title. The women’s team also came top in the long jump and 100 m hurdles events.
