Undergraduate halls volunteer scheme promotes cross-generational integration

12 July 2022

The undergraduate halls, in collaboration with the Providence Foundation, recruited 44 students and 28 elderly people in 2021/22 to participate in more than 50 hours of workshops. The participants explored the issue of positive ageing together, and they took the opportunity to learn more about each other and nurture an inclusive culture.

The themes of the workshops included health management, communication skills and experiencing art. Some of the workshops were planned and organised by the participating students. During the pandemic, the students communicated with and expressed their care to the elderly people through social media.
