Chung Wing-yiu, a fresh graduate of the Academy of Visual Arts, was recently selected as one of the ten winners of the Outstanding Tertiary Student Award of Hong Kong organised by the Hong Kong Youth and Tertiary Students Association.
Wing-yiu believes that art can improve society. She has been working hard to integrate art into life, and she has created a platform to promote art through art illustrations. She also actively participated in various social services and accumulated nearly 1,000 hours of community service during her four years at university. Wing-yiu said that the Award has encouraged her to keep on amassing work experience in related fields. She will continue to play an active role as a youngster and work to influence life through art.
The Award aims to discover, praise and nurture tertiary students with potential who care about society and show concern for the future development of the Greater Bay Area. It also promotes whole-person development and heightens the students’ sense of national identity. Nearly 100 tertiary students from different institutions competed for the Award this year.
