Biomedical scientist shares views on ‘big health’ industry

Professor Wang Jun delivered a distinguished lecture for HKBU on 29 September.

 

Co-organised by the Institute of Creativity and the Research Office at HKBU, an online talk entitled “Big Health Industry: Before and Beyond Medicine” under the HKBU Distinguished Lecture Series 2022 was delivered by Professor Wang Jun, founder and CEO of GeneHarbor Biotechnologies, on 29 September.  

In the lecture, Professor Wang catalogued the major categories of nutritional supplements that genuinely benefit human beings, and he spoke in detail about nicotinamide mononucleotide, a newly emerging anti-ageing product. The “big health” industry has increased in popularity among investors in recent times. The current focus of the industry is medicine and biomedicine in particular. Professor Wang believes that the synthetic biology platform technology that his company has developed will play an important role in the new era of the “big health” industry.
