Chinese Medicine student awarded Innovation and Technology Scholarship

Michelle Yeung Tsz-ching, a Year 5 Chinese Medicine student, has received a scholarship of HK$150,000 from the Innovation Technology Scholarship Award 2022, making her one of the 25 awardees in Hong Kong. The award presentation ceremony on 6 June was officiated by Mrs Carrie Lam, Chief Executive of the Hong Kong Special Administrative Region.

Michelle aspires to promote integrative and preventive medicine through technology. She is currently working on the standardisation of Chinese medicine and the further development of clinical practice guidelines. Michelle said it was a pleasure to receive the scholarship, and she plans to use it to support her practicum in the Guangdong Provincial Hospital of Traditional Chinese Medicine and take summer courses offered by prestigious universities. She also plans to organise workshops to promote traditional Chinese culture among the youths in Hong Kong.

The Innovation and Technology Scholarship was jointly established by the Innovation and Technology Commission, HSBC and The Hong Kong Federation of Youth Groups in 2011. It aims to encourage outstanding students to join the innovation and technology industry, and identify and nurture more talent.
