Mr Allan Wong, Director of Information Technology, recently received the CIO100 awards 2022 presented by CIO, a media platform for enterprise chief information officers (CIOs) and business technology executives. The award was in recognition of Mr Wong’s vision and execution of the University’s digital transformation journey, which empowers the University to be future-ready for sustainable development through innovation and technology enablement.
The CIO100 awards recognise the top 100 senior technology executives and teams driving innovation, strengthening resiliency, and influencing rapid change across the ASEAN region and Hong Kong. Judged on the core pillars of Innovation and Leadership, the award scheme honours transformational, inspiring, and enduring CIOs at both in-country and regional levels. Mr Wong is the first CIO from Hong Kong’s higher education sector to receive this award.
The digital transformation journey at HKBU prioritises and provides a better user experience through user-centric design, and introduces continuous innovations to support teaching, learning and research excellence. The University’s productivity and capacity are enhanced through streamlined processes and automation, with data-centric and insight-driven operations for decision-making enabled by data analytics and artificial intelligence. The University will continue to build and enrich a technology-enabled campus with smart features that enhance user experiences and operational efficiency.
