The Leadership Qualities Centre of the Office of Student Affairs hosted the last High Table Dinner in the 2022/23 academic year on 25 May. The event was well attended by about 120 participants, including Dr Simon Lee Hoey, member of the Legislative Council; Mr Jackson Tin, representative of the Tin Ka Ping Foundation and Supervisor of the Yan Oi Tong Tin Ka Ping Kindergarten; and HKBU students, alumni and friends.
At the dinner, Dr Lee made a speech on the development and national strategy of the Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area to broaden students’ understanding of the opportunities that lie ahead.
The Leadership Qualities Centre launched the HKBU High Table Dinner series with the donation from the Tin Ka Ping Foundation. Renowned professionals from different sectors and public figures were invited to deliver talks at the dinners. The series aims to enrich students’ knowledge of a wide variety of social, cultural, economic and technological issues. It also aims to broaden students’ horizons and encourage them to explore and reflect on the value and meaning of life.
