Professor Lyu Aiping, Associate Vice-President (Research and Development) cum Dean of Graduate School, has been named on the list of “Highly Cited Researchers 2023” by Clarivate Analytics, in recognition of his academic publications which have been highly cited by fellow academics in the cross-field of the Web of Science, the world’s eminent citation database. This accolade showcases Professor Lyu’s significant and far-reaching influence in his field of expertise.
Professor Lyu is a world-leading scientist in aptamer-based translational medicine and drug discovery. His research interests focus on Chinese medicine and systems medicine, particularly the rheumatoid arthritis and its novel classification and new drug discovery. Over the years, he has successfully secured numerous research grants and funding supported by local, regional and national funding bodies. He has published more than 600 articles and obtained over 60 patents. He has achieved high Google Scholar citation counts of more than 25,000, with a recent Google Scholar H-index score of 77.
A total of 6,849 researchers from institutions in 67 countries and regions have been honoured this year. The evaluation and selection process draws on researchers’ papers which ranked top 1% of the Web of Science database by citations for relevant fields and publication year, together with analysis performed by bibliometric experts and data scientists at the Institute for Scientific Information at Clarivate.
