Around 50 members of the HKBU Foundation and the University’s supporters visited HKBU on 7 and 16 November to tour the campus’s state-of-the-art facilities, including the Visualisation Research Centre, Motion Capture and Visualisation Laboratory, and Life Science Imaging Centre. The visit enabled everyone to have an in-depth understanding of the University’s strategic development.
The guests were warmly received by the HKBU top management including Dr Clement Chen and Ms Rosanna Choi, Chairman and Treasurer of the Council and the Court respectively; Professor Alexander Wai, President and Vice-Chancellor; Dr Albert Chau, Vice-President (Teaching and Learning) and Acting Dean of Arts; Ms Christine Chow, Vice-President (Administration) and Secretary; Professor Johnny M Poon, Associate Vice-President (Interdisciplinary Research) and Founding Dean of the School of Creative Arts; and Mrs Lily Chan, Director of University Advancement and Secretary-General of the HKBU Foundation.
Dr Clement Chen said that the HKBU Foundation’s membership has risen from 131 to 922 since its inception in 2009. The Foundation has also raised an aggregate sum of more than HK$4.82 billion in donations, providing a solid financial bedrock for the University’s advancement.
Professor Alexander Wai thanked the members of the HKBU Foundation’s Board of Governors and its Committees for their dedicated contributions, which have helped foster the University’s development in multiple areas such as the research on Chinese medicine and art-tech.
