The HKBU Cultural Literacy Programme (LIVE) launched two exhibitions in late April that realise the crossover between art, science and technology.
The interactive exhibition “Colors: from inner self to outer worlds”, which showcases the creative artworks produced by 46 students of the Bachelor of Arts and Science (Hons) in Arts and Technology programme, was co-organised by LIVE and the School of Creative Arts. With the use of sensors and some digital tools, the students are exploring the power of colour, and the technology connects viewers with their interactive art-tech installations in an interactive way.
Another exhibition named “Poetic Microscope” was co-organised by LIVE, the Department of Biology and the Academy of Visual Arts, and it provides an interesting platform for a group of Biology students to open up their artistic minds with regard to their daily scientific work. Over 70 students studying Cell Biology have chosen around 50 colourful images of different tissues, cells, bacteria or viruses captured through a microscope. Together with the science students’ artistic interpretations, the exhibition invites viewers to re-discover the hidden beauty of the world in a microscopic way.
The two exhibitions will last until early and mid-May respectively. Please visit the LIVE homepage for more information.
