Twenty-two outstanding HKBU students awarded HSBC scholarships

A total of 22 HKBU undergraduate students have received scholarships under the HSBC Scholarship Scheme this year for their outstanding academic performance and well-rounded development. The Bank hosted the annual HSBC Scholars Day on 9 August to recognise more than 270 awardees of the HSBC scholarship schemes.

Marcus Chan Pak-sun (Geography, Year 2) was the winner of the HSBC Overseas Scholarship with a grant of HK$94,000. He will be studying at the University of Birmingham in the UK for one semester. He said, "Receiving the scholarship is a great honour. As a geography student, having fieldwork experiences is crucial for my academic journey. With the financial support from the Scholarship, the exchange opportunity in the UK will enhance my knowledge and inspire my thinking, , empowering me to contribute to shaping a better future for Hong Kong through better planning and sustainability."

Meanwhile, Chan Lau-yi (Government and International Studies, Year 4), Liu Qiqin (Chinese Language and Literature, Year 2) and Liu Wenshi (BBA Finance, Year 4) were the awardees of the HSBC Greater Bay Area (Hong Kong) Scholarship worth HK$80,000 respectively. The remaining 18 HKBU students were awarded the Innovation Technology Scholarship Award, HSBC Hong Kong Scholarship and HSBC Social Work Scholarship respectively.
