HKBU hosts annual forum to advocate intellectual property awareness

The HKBU Intellectual Property Forum 2023 attracts around 140 participants joining online or in-person.

The Knowledge Transfer Office of HKBU and the University Library co-organised the HKBU Intellectual Property Forum 2023 on 1 December. With the theme “Art-Tech and Intellectual Property Rights”, the forum featured distinguished intellectual property specialists from both the government and private sectors who shed light on a wide range of topics that revolve around Art-Tech and digital humanity, and their implications for intellectual property rights.

The Intellectual Property Department of the HKSAR Government and the University of Macau were the supporting organisations of this forum, which attracted around 140 participants, both online and in-person. The event commenced with welcome speeches by Dr Ken Yeung, Acting Director of Knowledge Transfer Office of HKBU, and Mr Christopher Chan, University Librarian.

Esteemed speakers from renowned intellectual property firms including IDEA Intellectual Ltd, Marks & Clerk Hong Kong, and ELLALAN also delivered presentations that highlighted the significant value of intellectual property rights in today's world, providing insightful analysis on the subject.
