Graduands give thanks at the Baccalaureate Service

The Chaplain’s Office organised the 64th Baccalaureate Service on 19 April to celebrate and honour the achievements and perseverance of graduating students during their study journeys. It also conveyed blessings to the students and passed on the treasured Christian heritage of the University.

In his inspiring remarks, the Rev Dr Carver Yu, President Emeritus of the China Graduate School of Theology and Former Head of the Department of Religion and Philosophy, encouraged graduands to build their life “on the Rock” to overcome the storms in life. He also reminded students to reflect on the meaning of life by seeking the ultimate wisdom of our Maker.

Professor Alexander Wai, President and Vice-Chancellor, said that the strength, resilience and faith gained from the challenging pandemic will be our guiding light for the uncertainties ahead. He also emphasised that empathy and compassion are necessary to tackle the challenges presented by technology, and he encouraged students to live out the beauty of human nature.
