Three start-up companies established by HKBU students and alumni achieved remarkable results at the Hong Kong Social Enterprise Challenge 2024.

 

Three start-up companies established by HKBU student and alumni achieved remarkable results at the Hong Kong Social Enterprise Challenge 2024.

ReCube operated by Ng Tsz-chung, a Year 4 student, and students from another university, was the first runner-up and won the Most Innovative Idea Award, receiving HK$150,000 in incubation support. Since March last year, ReCube has successfully collaborated with 13 restaurants, offering a reusable tableware rental service and reducing up to 5,000 disposable utensils.

Re:learn co-founded by Mr So Kin-fung, an HKBU alumnus, was selected as the Youth Co-Lab HKSAR Winner and invited to join the Youth Co:Lab Summit co-organised by the United Nations Development Programme and the Citi Foundation. The team uses artificial intelligence and virtual reality technology to provide innovative rehabilitation experiences for the mobility-impaired community.

Impact AI co-founded by Mr Nong Ding-zhan, an HKBU alumnus, won the Timely Impact Award and received HK$50,000 in incubation support. Impact AI has developed an app for sign language interpretation dedicated for hearing-impaired individuals, addressing their communication barriers.

Organised by the Centre for Entrepreneurship of the Chinese University of Hong Kong, the Challenge aims to foster innovative solutions to build inclusive societies, inspiring entrepreneurs to address societal needs through sustainable business models.
