Seven HKBU student athletes were honoured at the 2023-24 University Sports Federation of Hong Kong (USFHK) Annual Prize Presentation Ceremony held on 14 April. Choi Wing-yan (cross country running) and Chow Ting-yi (woodball) were crowned the USFHK Individual Champions, and Cheung Ka-long (fencing) was named USFHK Sportsman of the Year.

This year, the USFHK has introduced a new award called "Hall of Fame" to honour tertiary students who performed exceptionally well for Hong Kong in international competitions last year. The students honoured with this award are Cheung Ka-long (fencing) Forrest Shanna Sanman (rugby), Wong Tsz-to (triathlon), Ngai Wai-yan (windsurfing) and Lau Chi-lung (wushu).

Cheung Ka-long did not attend the ceremony due to his training out of town. He expressed his gratitude through a video message, saying that he felt proud to have received the Sportsman Award. He thanked the USFHK for their support and recognition, and HKBU for supporting him in his studies and training throughout his sports career. He also pledged to continue to “bring glory to Hong Kong” and pursue athletic excellence.
