The HKBU Community Service Day, organised by the Leadership Qualities Centre of the Office of Student Affairs, was held on 13 April with the theme “Serve Tour-gather” to encourage students to serve the community and build a harmonious society. Over 230 beneficiaries from seven non-governmental organisations and 60 HKBU students participated in the event.
The event was supported by four student societies and sponsored by the Tin Ka Ping Foundation. Participants included the elderly, grassroots families, visually and physically impaired individuals, and ethnic minorities. They took part in the campus tours and workshops in the morning, followed by five thoughtfully designed guided city tours in the afternoon. All the activities were designed and led by HKBU’s student volunteers.
The Community Service Day not only allowed participants to immerse themselves in the dynamic culture of Hong Kong and the vibrancy of the HKBU campus but also strengthened the University’s community relations. This initiative is a testament to HKBU’s ongoing commitment to social responsibility, fostering a stronger sense of civic responsibility among students.
