The Chaplain’s Office held the 65th Baccalaureate Service on 17 April to celebrate the completion of the graduands’ studies and their commencement of a new chapter in life through the cherished Christian tradition of the University.
Rev Dr Joshua Cho, President of the Hong Kong Baptist Theological Seminary, offered words of wisdom themed “Be Wise” at the ceremony, encouraging students to gain wisdom by rooting themselves in God’s teachings. He shared that the secret to happiness and wisdom lies in loving God wholeheartedly and loving one’s neighbour as oneself.
Professor Alex Wai, President and Vice-Chancellor, praised the students for their strength, determination and resilience, particularly in overcoming the challenges posed by the pandemic. He commended the graduands for embracing diversity and inclusion, in line with the Christian values that have equipped them with the necessary skills and adaptability to address the challenges in a rapidly evolving world.
