Five HKBU students who have co-founded two green social enterprises participate in the Future Ecopreneur Programme jointly launched by Hang Seng Bank, Wofoo Social Enterprises, and Hong Kong Science and Technology Parks Corporation (HKSTP). They will receive training for two-and-a-half years and develop solutions for climate issues. The two social enterprises will also join the Ideation Programme under HKSTP, further realising their entrepreneurial plans.

The launching ceremony of the Future Ecopreneur Programme was held on 24 May. The invited guests included Mr Nicholas Ooi, Innovation Lead of the Centre for Innovative Service-Learning at HKBU.

One of the enterprises Bio-Leisure, co-founded by Zhou Yubo, a final-year student in Business Computing and Data Analytics; Liu Qianyi, a third-year student in BBA Finance; Su Miu-sum, a first-year student in BBA; and Wang Ziqing, a first-year Master's student in Sport & Leisure Management, integrates script-based gaming with outdoor experiences to promote environmental awareness.

Another enterprise MetaGreenX, co-founded by Bonnie Chen Hor-yee, a second-year PhD Communication student from the School of Communication, along with teammates from other universities, dedicates itself to transforming green conservation efforts through cutting-edge Internet of Things technology.

Under the Future Ecopreneur Programme, they will participate in ecotours, sustainability courses, entrepreneurship bootcamps and share with industry leaders, gaining practical insights into the latest sustainable technologies and practices.
