HKBU honours staff with Professor Emeritus titles and Long Service Awards

HKBU hosted the Milestone In Service Ceremony 2024 on 21 June, conferring the honorary title of Professor Emeritus to four professors and presenting awards to over 200 retirees and long-serving colleagues in recognition of their hard work and contributions.

At the ceremony, Professor Alex Wai, President and Vice-Chancellor, showed his appreciation to the awardees for their dedication to the University over the years.

The Professors Emeritus are (by Department):

Professor Joseph Ng (Department of Computer Science)

Professor Liao Lizhi (Department of Mathematics)

Professor Tang Tao (Department of Mathematics)

Professor Tang Leihan (Department of Physics)

Over 40 retiring colleagues were honoured for their dedicated service, and 160 awardees who have served the University for 10, 15, 20, 25, 30 or 35 years were presented with the Long Service Award.
