On 28 June 2024, HKBU signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with Hong Chi Association (HCA) to establish a long-term partnership to empower individuals with intellectual disabilities and promote greater inclusiveness.

Under the terms of the MoU, HCA and HKBU will co-create learning initiatives for HCA service users and HKBU students, foster knowledge sharing and skills exchange, as well as provide opportunities for members of both organisations to participate in community engagement and service-learning projects.

The MoU was signed by Ms Zuie Lin, General Secretary of HCA, and Dr Albert Chau, Vice-President (Teaching and Learning). Mr Edward Yau, Chairman of the HCA Council, and Professor Alex Wai, President and Vice-Chancellor, also attended the signing ceremony.

The collaboration between HCA and HKBU marks a milestone for special education in Hong Kong and underscores their commitment to driving positive change and creating a future where everyone can thrive and contribute to the community.
