School of Business co-hosts International Conference on Electronic Business to discuss AI-generated content and human-AI collaboration

The 24th International Conference on Electronic Business (ICEB) took place from 24 to 28 October at the Beijing Normal University-Hong Kong Baptist University United International College (BNU-HKBU UIC). It was co-hosted by the HKBU School of Business and the Faculty of Business and Management at BNU-HKBU UIC, with support from the Faculty of Business and Economics at The University of Hong Kong.

With over 200 participants and approximately 150 submissions, the conference centred around the theme “AI-Generated Content and Human-AI Collaboration”. In her opening address, Professor Christy Cheung, ICEB 2024 Conference Co-Chair, President of the Association for Information Systems Hong Kong Chapter, and Chair Professor of the Department of Management, Marketing and Information Systems at HKBU, emphasised the significance and timeliness of the theme, particularly in the context of the rapidly evolving landscape of artificial intelligence. 

The conference featured a wide range of topics, including AI applications, big data analytics, blockchain and fintech, digital marketing, e-business strategies, and smart technologies. Keynote presentations were delivered by esteemed speakers, including Professor Chen Guoqing from the Tsinghua University, Professor Carol Hsu from the University of Sydney, Professor Atreyi Kankanhalli from the National University of Singapore, and Ms Jean Niu Jing from Huawei.

ICEB, an affiliated conference of the Association for Information Systems (AIS) and supported by the International Consortium for Electronic Business, is recognised as one of the top academic conferences globally in the field of electronic business.
