William Susanto, a student from the School of Business, has won the “Public Winner” award in the 2024 Long Story Short Award, an inter-university short story writing competition organised by the French publisher Short Édition. His work, A Beautiful Dream, earned the highest number of public votes, making him the first HKBU student to achieve distinction in this competition.

The theme for this year’s competition was “Once in a Blue Moon”, which called for submissions of short stories up to 7,500 words from students of Short Édition’s university partners worldwide. The competition presented three awards: the Jury’s Winner, the Jury’s Coup de Cœur, and the Public Winner.
