Journalism students shine in Campus News Awards

The award-winning Journalism students and graduates celebrate their achievements with their teachers.

 

Thirteen students and a recent graduate from the Department of Journalism have recently won six awards in the "2023 Campus News Awards" competition organised by the China Daily Hong Kong Edition.

Among the HKBU winners, Li Ruoyu and Cao Siyuan clinched the top award for “Best in Data Journalism” in the English category, with their feature story titled “Budget 2023: The Aging City and the Government's Spending on the Elderly”. All the HKBU award-winning works were published on two news platforms, San Po Yan and The Young Reporter, managed by the Journalism students.

HKBU also received the “Most Active Participation Award”, bringing the total number of awards to seven, the highest among all participating universities in Hong Kong. This accomplishment highlights HKBU’s strength in Journalism education.
