Cyanne Chan Pui-to (Music, Year 4) and Natalie Mai Ching-yin (Physical Education and Recreation Management, Year 3) have been honoured with the For Our Future Scholarship 2023-24 in recognition of their exceptional academic accomplishments, personal growth and societal contributions. They are two of the 16 recipients in Hong Kong who have each received a scholarship of HK$50,000.
An award presentation ceremony was held on 17 April where both students showcased their respective talents, singing and Chinese Calligraphy.
Cyanne, as a talented vocalist, aspires not only to share her beloved music with others but also to harness it as a mean of self-expression. In addition to her musical endeavours, Cyanne has a strong interest in dragon boating, serving as the Vice Captain of the University's Dragon Boat Team for three years.
While specialising in basketball, Natalie is passionate and proficient in Chinese calligraphy. With over a decade of experience in this ancient art form, she has successfully established an online Chinese calligraphy business.
The For Our Future Scholarship has been provided by the Greater Bay Area Homeland Youth Community Foundation since 2020. The Foundation will organise a GBA exchange tour for the awardees to focus on areas such as innovation and technology, culture and art, economy and people's livelihood in the cities of the Greater Bay Area.
