The School of Business held the “MBA HUB x BUS RESEARCH: Global Connection | Unlock Opportunities” Forum in Shenzhen on 30 November 2024. The event also featured the official launch ceremony of the MBA Hub, an online platform for alumni and students to share experiences and foster mutual growth towards a more sustainable future.

In her welcome address, Dr Monique Wan Shui-ki, Associate Dean (Taught Postgraduate Studies) and Director of the MBA Programme, said that the world is navigating a turbulent economic landscape marked by rapid changes driven by the rise of AI and tense international relations. While these factors contribute to global uncertainties, they also present new opportunities.

Following her address, the MBA Hub was officially launched in a ceremony officiated by Dr Monique Wan; Ms Jenny Li, Director of the University Engagement Office; Dr Wang Zi, Associate Professor of the Department of Accountancy, Economics and Finance; and Mr Fan Jiaqi and Dr Xiao Yingdan, Co-Chairman and Executive Chairman of the HKBU MBA (China) Alumni Association.

Dr Wang Zi delivered a keynote presentation exploring the complexities of the ongoing trade tensions between China and the US. HKBU alumni, Mr Wang Meifa Wang, Vice General Manager of the R&D Center at Shenzhen FRD Science & Tech Co. Ltd., Legal Representative at FRD Tech (Vietnam) Ltd., and CEO of FRD Tech (USA) Inc.; and Mr Yan Shijie, Director of Brand & Marketing Department, Global Business Group at CVTE, also shared their insights.

Attracting around 120 business leaders, alumni, and industry experts, the forum concluded with an engaging panel discussion and Q&A session.
