TriAngle at the Centre for Innovative Service-Learning (CISL), in collaboration with the University Innovation Fellows (UIF) programme under the Hasso Plattner Institute of Design at Stanford University, organised the “UIF Asia Meet-Up in Hong Kong” event on HKBU campus from 9 to 11 January.
Themed “Unboxing Social Enter-Pedia”, the event brought together 53 passionate innovators, educators, and students from 14 countries and cities. They explored creative solutions to global challenges and sought to reshape the future of innovation, using Hong Kong as an example.
Dr Albert Chau, Vice-President (Teaching and Learning) of HKBU; Dr Lisa Lam, Director of CISL of HKBU; and Dr Miriam Iliohan, Co-founder of DesignLab at the University of Twente in Netherlands and organiser of the UIF International Meet-Up, took to the stage and delivered their speeches.
Apart from taking part in the workshops and interactive games, the participants also visited a number of innovation hubs in Hong Kong, including the Hong Kong Science and Technology Parks Corporation, Tai Kwun, and Wheelock X The Do (WLAB), where they gained valuable insights into social enterprise and entrepreneurship and built connections with local social innovators.
