Organised by TriAngle, the social innovation co-working space of the Centre for Innovative Service-Learning (CISL), the "Social Innovation Celebration" market was held on 23 and 24 January to welcome the Year of the Snake.

This event brought together community members from social enterprises, NGOs, local shops, and HKBU students to showcase and trade handmade crafts, creative designs, and desserts and coffee, demonstrating the creativity and enthusiasm of social enterprises and students.

At the opening ceremony, Dr Lisa Lam, Director of CISL, shared that she hopes that the University community could know more about how various organisations are working on promoting social enterprises and social innovation in Hong Kong. The event kickstarted with a wonderful performance by the elderly performers from the “Go Train Ukulele” of The Ukulele Society of Hong Kong.

In addition to the 35 stalls, the event also featured workshops organised by seven community partners, including Yan Oi Tong Youth Space, OHHDearHK, Joy Connect, and the “Inaccessible Lab” of the Tung Wah Group of Hospitals. These activities enriched the event, and provided attendees with a memorable experience of community collaboration.
