Six HKBU athletes compete at Rhine-Ruhr 2025 FISU World University Games

Six HKBU elite athletes, namely Chan Chun-ho, Chiok Chun-yin, Lee Tsz-ching, Laren Leung Lok-man, Janelle Leung Ya-lei, and Lo Wai-fung, attended the Flag Presentation Ceremony of the Hong Kong, China Delegation to the Rhine-Ruhr 2025 FISU World University Games held on campus on 8 July. They will represent Hong Kong, China at the Games, which will take place from 16 to 27 July in Rhine-Ruhr, Germany, striving for outstanding results.

The ceremony was graced by Mr Raistlin Lau, Acting Secretary for Culture, Sports and Tourism, and Professor Alex Wai, President and Vice-Chancellor of HKBU. Lo Wai-fung, a student of the Physical Education and Recreation Management programme, was selected as one of the athlete representatives to receive the HKSAR flag at the ceremony.

The six athletes will compete in the following events: Chan Chun-ho (Athletics 400m), Chiok Chun-yin (Taekwondo -58kg), Lee Tsz-ching (Taekwondo Poomsae), Luran Leung Lok-man (Fencing Sabre), Janelle Leung Ya-lei (Fencing Foil), and Lo Wai-fung (Taekwondo -68kg).
