HKBU receives HK$1 million from Miss Linda So to promote student overseas exchanges

HKBU has received a generous donation of HK$1 million from Miss Linda So, Director of Winnie Sanitary Product Limited and Yue Wing Cheong Manufactory Limited, who is also a member of the Young Entrepreneur Committee of the HKBU Foundation. This donation will support the “Mr. & Mrs. So Kai Sing Student Exchange Scholarship”, an endowment fund set up by Miss So’s parents, enabling more HKBU students to participate in overseas exchanges.

Established in the 2015/16 academic year with an initial HK$1 million donation from Mr So Kai-sing and Mrs Susan So, the scholarship has supported nine HKBU students in pursuing overseas exchange programmes, which have broadened their global perspectives and strengthened their international competitiveness.

The So family shares a deep and enduring bond with HKBU. Mr and Mrs So, Honorary Permanent Presidents of the HKBU Foundation, have been staunch supporters of the Jao Tsung-I Academy of Sinology and the University’s strategic development. Mrs Susan So is also an Honorary University Fellow and actively contributes as a member of the HKBU Foundation’s Board of Governors. Continuing the family’s legacy of philanthropy, Miss So is dedicated to social affairs and currently serves on the Board of Directors of Yan Chai Hospital and various school boards.
