Professor Bian Zhaoxiang, Hospital Chief Executive of The Chinese Medicine Hospital of Hong Kong and Associate Vice-President (Clinical Chinese Medicine) of HKBU, has been appointed by the National Administration of Traditional Chinese Medicine to the 2024 Qi Huang Scholar Programme. Professor Bian will receive support from the Programme for his innovative, exploratory and applied research projects, as well as the translation of his scientific and technological achievements.
The Programme is the highest-level talent development initiative launched by the National Administration of Traditional Chinese Medicine. It is designed for professionals who have demonstrated exceptional achievements and significant academic influence in clinical practice or Chinese medicine research, and who are capable of leading innovation and advancement in the field.
The Programme includes classical study, clinical research, interdisciplinary studies, and strategic thinking. It also supports research to solve clinical or scientific research issues in related fields of Chinese medicine, scientific and technological consultation, technical services and promotion and training activities at the grassroots level and within enterprises, so as to facilitate the translation of academic experience and scientific and technological achievements in Chinese medicine.
