School of Chinese Medicine hosts Traditional Chinese Medicine Experts Forum on rheumatic and orthopaedic disorders

The Clinical Division of the School of Chinese Medicine hosted the “Traditional Chinese Medicine Experts Forum - Specialisation in Rheumatic and Orthopaedic Disorders” on 25 May. Six Chinese medicine experts from the Mainland delivered keynote speeches, sharing their insights on the diagnosis, treatment, and application of academic theories in rheumatic and orthopaedic disorders.

Funded by the Chinese Medicine Development Fund, the forum attracted nearly 200 participants, including Chinese medicine practitioners, industry experts, as well as staff and students of the School of Chinese Medicine. Notable attendees included Professor Lyu Aiping, Vice-President (Research and Development) of HKBU; Professor Bian Zhaoxiang, Associate Vice-President (Clinical Chinese Medicine) of HKBU and Chief Executive of the Chinese Medicine Hospital of Hong Kong; Professor Li Min, Dean of the School of Chinese Medicine; Professor Wong Kit, Honorary Chairman of the Hong Kong T.C.M. Orthopaedic and Traumatic Association; Professor Chan Wing-kwong, Member of the Legislative Council; and officials from the Health Bureau.

The forum provided a high-level academic exchange platform for the Chinese medicine community, enhancing public awareness and understanding of rheumatic and orthopedic disorders. It also facilitated collaboration and knowledge exchange among experts, driving the development of Chinese medicine in this specialised field.
