Chan Ho-yuen appointed Chair of the BWF Para Badminton Athletes’ Commission

Chan Ho-yuen, a student of the Physical Education and Recreation Management programme and a two-time Paralympic medallist, has been officially appointed as Chair of the Badminton World Federation (BWF) Para Badminton Athletes’ Commission, as well as a member of the BWF Council. He is the first para athlete from Hong Kong, China to hold this distinguished position. He had served as the Interim Chair of the Commission since June of this year.

Chan Ho-yuen enrolled at HKBU through the Elite Athletes Admission Scheme (enhanced as the “Talented Athletes Direct Admission Scheme” since 2022/23 academic year). He won bronze in the Badminton Men’s Singles WH2 event at the Tokyo Paralympic Games in 2021 and silver in the same event at the Paris Paralympic Games in 2024.
