BUers shine at the 44th Hong Kong Film Awards

Wah Fu One, the award-winning song for Best Original Film Song, was produced, composed, and arranged by Mr Tsui Chin-hung.

 

HKBU lecturers and alumni shine brilliantly at the 44th Hong Kong Film Awards on 19 April. Ciao UFO, directed by Mr Patrick Leung Pak-kin, Part-time Lecturer of the Academy Film and alumnus, and produced and written by Ms Amy Chin, alumnus, swept five awards, including Best Film, Best Director, Best Screenplay, Best Supporting Actress, and Best Original Film Song.

Ciao UFO ’s award-winning theme song, Wah Fu One, won Best Original Film Song. It was produced by a talented team comprising Mr Tsui Chin-hung (producer, composer and arranger), Adjunct and Part-time Lecturer; Mr Day Tai (producer), Part-time Lecturer; and Mr Stephane Wong (drummer) and Mr Chan Hok-ming (bassist), Adjunct Lecturers of the Academy of Music.

Since 2024, Mr Patrick Leung Pak-kin has been teaching at the Academy of Film, where he delivers introductory and advanced film production courses and integrates his industry expertise into the Master of Fine Arts in Film, Television and Digital Media programme, nurturing the next generation of filmmakers.
