HKBU presents research outcomes and solutions at medical and healthcare summit and fair

HKBU participated in the Asia Summit on Global Health (ASGH) and the Hong Kong International Medical and Healthcare Fair held from 11-13 May at the Hong Kong Convention and Exhibition Centre. The University spotlighted its leading-edge advancements and translational outcomes in smart therapeutics and holistic well-being, covering modernised Chinese medicine, food as medicine, mental wellness, novel drug discovery, digital health and medical devices, showcasing HKBU’s strong scientific and translational research capabilities.

ASGH was jointly organised by the Government of the Hong Kong Special Administrative Region and the Hong Kong Trade Development Council (HKTDC), while the Hong Kong International Medical and Healthcare Fair was organised by HKTDC. HKBU showcased six research projects across the two events, including nasopharyngeal cancer detection, bio-inspired Houzao, Chinese herbal formulas for treating depression, anxiety and insomnia, ginseng for weight loss, lymphatic-targeted drug carriers, and the testing of sulphur-treated foods. Five startup companies also participated in these events.

At ASGH, Ms Kid Chan, Project Manager of HKBU start-up Pishon Biotech Limited, introduced botanical antiviral solutions for animal health, and Ms Angela Mak, co-founder of HKBU start-up Yiluda Traditional Chinese Medicine (International) Limited, presented an AI-driven clinical platform for modernised Chinese medicine. HKBU start-up Jelumiere Biotech Limited also featured its skincare products at the fair.
