Eight HKBU students, nominated and supported by the Career Centre under the Office of Student Affairs, have been selected for the Cyberport University Partnership Programme 2026 and attended the opening ceremony on 13 June. They will participate in digital technology pre-camp nurturing sessions and attend an entrepreneurship boot camp in the UK, where they will receive holistic training and mentorship in the fields of artificial intelligence, blockchain, cybersecurity, and data science.
The students selected for the programme underscore HKBU’s dedication to advancing FinTech and digital innovation, while nurturing young talents with entrepreneurial potential. The selected students come from four teams: Ahtasham Ahmed, Chen Boyu and Thomas Leung Man-to from the Triple T team (all pursuing the Transdisciplinary Individualised Major programme); Bibinur Adikhan (Computer Science), Shiva Raj Bhatt (Master of Finance) and Bhawish Kumar (Computer Science) from the BridgeChain team; Ahmad Amir (Computer Science) from the Vanber team; and Li Yuen-chi (Creative and Professional Writing programme) from the HKJetso team.
The boot camp will be held at the London School of Economics and Political Science. During their stay, students will participate in company visits, workshops, and exchanges with experts to gain insights into the latest developments in innovative technologies, explore global venture capital and startup trends, and broaden their international perspectives while enhancing their entrepreneurial and practical skills.
The students will present their innovative projects at Demo Day in late August in Hong Kong, competing for seed funding of HK$100,000 from the Cyberport Creative Micro Fund and the opportunity to advance to the Cyberport Incubation Programme.
